The PHA Annual Plan posted for review in February has been approved by the PHA’s board; however, since it had been posted, HUD has established a new regulation that requires PHA now to amend the plan. The revision relates to the PHA’s policy for tenants who are over income – meaning that their family income is above 120% of the Area Median Income.

Proposed Revision to Over Income policy

Current Income Limits for admission as of April 5, 2023 – The over income policy only applies when a family’s income is more than 2.4 times the “Very Low income” limit for family size.  For example, a family of 3, the current Over Income limit is $104,520 (=$43,500 times 2.4)

The Providence Housing Authority (PHA) will conduct a public comment period for the revision of its Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP) beginning on April 6, 2023 and ending on May 22, 2023.
