Work Orders

To request maintenance services, residents must call the 24-hour Maintenance Call Center at (401) 421-3325. The Call Center will generate a numbered work order that will be assigned to an appropriate staff member for completion. When contacting the Maintenance Call Center, residents should fully describe the problem so that the dispatcher can determine the level of priority of the requested services.

Safety & Security

The PHA’s Office of Security Operations, in collaboration with the Providence Police Department and its Public Housing Unit (PHU), provide 24-hour security services for PHA residents. The PPD and the PHU provide patrols in the family developments, while PHA security guards provide roving patrols at all elderly-disabled developments. For an emergency matter or to report a crime in progress, all residents must call 911.

FAQ's

1. How does the PHA calculate my rent amount?

The PHA calculates your monthly rent by multiplying your annual household income minus allowable deductions by 30% and dividing that number by 12. Tenants living in Dexter II and Scattered site apartments have their rent reduced by a utility allowance since they are responsible for paying certain utilities.
