“Housing with Opportunities and Pathways to Employment (HOPE) Program.”

We are happy to share that the Providence Housing Authority (PHA) in collaboration with a number of community partners has applied to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for a $3M Jobs Plus Pilot Program (JPPP) grant to implement a new jobs initiative they have dubbed the “Housing with Opportunities and Pathways to Employment (HOPE) Program.” If funded, the HOPE Program will increase employment and earned income for public housing residents in the PHA’s Hartford Park and Manton Heights developments.
“The Jobs Plus Pilot Program funding will allow the PHA reach beyond the provision of housing and enrich our commitment to improve lives and make a transformative impact in the Hartford Park and Manton Heights communities,” stated Melissa Sanzaro, the PHA’s Deputy Executive Director. “If we receive this award, we intend to maximize our talented staff to engage resident leaders and valuable partners to institute positive, sustainable changes in this well-deserving Providence neighborhood.”
Please stay tuned for updates on the HOPE Program.
