The Providence Housing Authority has developed the following procedures to provide you with access to public records in an expeditious and courteous manner:
In order to ensure that you are provided with the information you seek in an expeditious manner, we ask that you complete a Public Records Request Form and return it to the nearest PHA Management Office or send it directly to the PHA’s designated Public Records Officer, Peter Asen, at the following mailing address:
Public Records Officer
Providence Housing Authority
100 Broad Street
Providence, RI 02903
You may also contact Peter Asen directly by phone at 401-709-1102 or via email at PAsen@pvdhousing.org.
The regular business hours of the Authority are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We also keep summer hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. You may view documents during those hours on site at our Administrative Office at 100 Broad Street in Providence.
Please be advised that the Access to Public Records Act allows the PHA ten (10) business days to respond to your request and that time period may be extended for an additional twenty (20) business days for “good cause”. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
For additional information regarding your rights, you may obtain the Attorney General’s Guide to Open Government.
For a review of PHA procedures for appealing a denial of an Access to Public Records Act request for information or records, please contact Peter Asen at 401-709-1102 or at PAsen@pvdhousing.org.
